Charles L. “Charlie” Bray lived 100 years jam packed into 57 real time. He died in a tragic motorcycle accident on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, in San Andreas, CA doing what he loved to do.
Charles was born January 14th, 1956, son of the Ruth A. and Lawrence D. Bray. Raised next to Bray’s Pond in Placerville, Ca, he developed a fondness for swimming and fishing until he discovered the thrill of a dirt bike.
His early jobs were: fixing things for his grandpa Arthur Bray, working for the City of Placerville and working for Placerville Fruit Growers. He moved to Washington State in 1978 and worked for the Peshastin Fruit Growers, was assistant manager for the Icicle & Peshastin Irrigation District and self-proclaimed “rounder” for Michael’s Irrigation and Excavation. In 1984 he started All Seasons Sweeping Service and presently owned and operated Northwest Snow and Ice Equipment – selling, installing and servicing BOSS Snow Plows.
After a brief courtship, Charlie and Karen Hughes married in Wenatchee on March 31, 1979.They had two sons, Caleb and Keegan Bray. Four other kids feathered their nest at various times including: Justin, Amanda & Ashley Guinn and Brandon (Hays) Womack.
Charlie was passionate about: motorcycles, hunting, fishing, horses, mules, farming, and traveling. His latest project was building a custom wooden drift boat. His consuming passion was spending time with his grandkids, sharing his love of the outdoors with them.
He leaves behind his “sweety” wife Karen Bray, two awesome sons, Caleb (Jolene) Bray and Keegan (Candi Jo) Bray and best grandsons Conner and Kasey Bray, prettiest granddaughter Calene Bray and expected grandson Charles Joseph Bray all of Cashmere; his sisters Janice (Mike Bernedo) Bray - Jackson, CA, and Nancy Morehead – Yakima; nephews and nieces: Justin Guinn - Wenatchee, Amanda & Ashley Guinn - Quincy, Lucas Carthew - Folsum, CA, adopted son Brandon Womack – Wenatchee; and a list of friends we’d love to mention if we could afford it.
He was left behind by his beloved mother and step-father Ruth and John Klos and by his father Lawrence Bray.
